Al-Hikmah Radio was founded to inform campus community, the public and alumni around the world about the activities and programs of Al-Hikmah University. The University was established in 2005 by the Abdur-Raheem Oladimeji Islamic Foundation (AROIF), Nigeria. The University came into existence via the granting of License to operate as a Conventional Private University by the Federal Government of Nigeria License No. 010 on 7th January, 2005.

Al-Hikmah Radio operates from the Department of Mass Communication. This department has a well equipped audio lab which is meant for teaching radio production under the Electronic Media specialization. The radio is run by students who work daily to prepare and present news, public services announcements, station playlist and talk shows.
