If you are not an advanced player, move 1.c4 may seem to you to violate the basic principles of chess opening by not moving a central pawn on the first move, but the English Opening is a totally valid opening and for many it is considered the strongest chess opening in the world despite not being used as other openings as the Spanish Opening or the Italian Opening.

The English Opening is a theoretical opening with many variations that we will study in this app watching chess games in PGN format. Specifically, we will study the following variants:

- Symmetrical (1.c4 c5)
- Reversed Sicilian (1.c4 e5)
- Other variations (1.c4 Nf6, 1.c4 c6, ...)
