The London System is a universal opening that can be played with white pieces by both beginners and advanced players and at any pace of play. The current world champion in chess has it in his repertoire and uses it very frequently, which is why it has become a fashionable opening. The London System can be considered a Slav Defense or more specifically a Baltic Defense with the colors of the pieces changed and a time of more.
