The Scandinavian Defense is defined by movements 1. e4 d5. It is a counterattack defense where black pieces quickly attack the center of the board. Although the queen comes out too early in the variants studied, it is a totally correct defense and very common in classical, blitz and bullet tournaments due to its easy learning and the natural development of the pieces.
