Patte – The App That Finds Lost Pets Using Facial Recognition

Losing track of a pet is a frightening event that is experienced far too often by American families. The American Humane Association estimates that 1 out of 3 pets become lost at some point in their lifetime. That comes close to 10 million dogs, and cats lost or stolen in the U.S. every year. Even worse, 80% of lost pets in the U.S. are never reunited with their owners.

There is no shortage of solutions designed and marketed to help track and recover pets. Still, while some of these options can assist in certain situations, far too many pets never make it home. Bluetooth and GPS trackers promise to keep tabs on your dog or cat. Some are even trying Apple's new Airtag, though Apple does not recommend it.

Lost pet listing apps and websites are where many owners turn, hoping to be reunited with their furry friend. Unfortunately, these are simply not efficient or effective. There are far too many entries for users to sort through. As a result, pet owners end up overwhelmed and frustrated.

We focused on a special face recognition algorithm to identify pets, particularly cats and dogs. After intense and rigorous research, we offer unique pet face recognition system technology in a mobile app.

How does Patte work?
Patte uses facial recognition technology to help find lost pets. Simply enter your pets information and upload a photo. If your pet is lost, the app then engages help from the neighborhood and community to be on the lookout. If your cat or dog is found by another person, shelter or rescue they can use the app to scan and identify your pet. The system notifies you that your pet is ready to be picked up.

Is Patte a Paid Service?
Yes, it is a paid service. The monthly subscription price is only $9.99. You can cancel your subscription anytime you want.

What Makes Patte Unique?
Patte takes a totally different approach to finding pets. The unique facial recognition technology avoids all of the common problems related to conventinal GPS and Bluetooth-based tracking systems (Airtag, Tile, Trackr, etc.) and old-fashioned I.D. tags.

Here are some of the common problems faced by traditional pet finding methods:
Lost tag or device
Low or dead battery
High subscription or data connection costs
Removed or disabled device.
Low or no signal
Malfunction
Discomfort

Patte suffers from none of these problems since your pet doesn't wear anything. Instead, it provides a precise and straightforward solution using your pet's biometrically non-modifiable facial print.

Does Patte Replace Traditional Microchips?
Microchips are currently one of the most popular solutions for pet identification. Unfortunately, there are some problems with this method. First of all, the placement of microchips is performed by an invasive operation. Second, these chips must can only be read by special devices. Usually, these scanners are only available at veterinarian offices or through animal control services. That means that if someone finds your pet, they have to transport the cat or dog for identification. Finally, criminals can remove microchips. Pet thieves with a little bit of knowledge and experience can remove the chips leaving them useless.

What Is the Success Rate of the Patte Facial Recognition System?
According to our internal tests results, the success rate is over 90%. However, this success rate varies according to the breed of cats and dogs. The best news is that it keeps getting better. With every new dog or cat that joins the program, the data pool grows. That expanded data pool allows the A.I. models to continue learning, constantly increasing the success rate.

Helping Shelters and Nonprofits
We truly care about pets. That’s why we support pets in need by donating to shelters and nonprofits. By using the Patte app, you are not only keeping your pet safe but helping others as well.
