The enactment of Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information requires every institution to provide transparent and accountable information services to the public. As one of the higher education institutions that is always in contact with the community, especially in the field of higher education services, the results of the implementation, management, and implementation of tasks, the State University of Surabaya (Unesa) has the responsibility to provide information transparency to the public.
To support this, a strategic step taken by Unesa was to appoint an Information Management and Documentation Officer (PPID) through the Rector's Decree Number 1062/UN38/HK/KP/2019
In the decree, the Chancellor appointed all Vice Chancellors within Unesa as advisors, as well as the Head of the Academic, Student Planning, and Cooperation Bureau (BAKPK Headquarters) as Head of the Information Management and Documentation Officer. In carrying out its duties, the Head of the BAKPK Bureau is assisted by the Implementing Information and Documentation Management Officer consisting of the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Division, the Head of the Public Relations Unit and its divisions who are responsible for documentation, the Head of the Unesa Environment Section who is responsible for providing data, and the Head of the Center Responsible Information Technology Development in terms of information technology.
