Our Bear is an app developed in cooperation with Taipei City University and Taipei Municipal Zoo. Through stories, games, pictures and videos, everyone can get to know the three animals, the koala, the little bear, and the Taiwanese black bear, and learn more about animal conservation issues.
In conjunction with the 110th anniversary of the Taipei Zoo, the zoo uses 13 species of animals to promote and educate animal conservation. So many animals have the word "bear" in their names, but who is the real bear? Therefore, our team In conjunction with this project, we will select three animals with "bear" in their names - koalas, little bears, and Taiwanese black bears. We will introduce their characteristics and habits, food, habitats, and the crises they face to help the public understand these "bears" Have more awareness and integrate the concept of animal conservation into it to guide learners to think: What is our relationship with these animals? And what can we do? This will bring more people into environmental education.
The team hopes to arouse learning motivation through dialogue and situational simulation, and help learners continue their learning interest through illustrations, stories and games: animal illustrations and actual pictures are used to help satisfy vision and curiosity; situational simulation stories package knowledge in an interesting way; A variety of interactive games provide opportunities for hands-on operation and thinking.
The app is divided into three parts, namely knowledge introduction, entering the story, and design information. Each animal chapter in the story can be used as a learning node for environmental education, forming a series of learning media. In the App, we have integrated eight simple game interactions into the story. Our feature is that each interaction will give corresponding real-time feedback through sound effects, text descriptions, or image changes. We hope to use this to To deepen learners’ impression of environmental and conservation-related issues. In addition, each animal chapter, subsection and game interaction can be independently formed into a complete learning process. First, motivation is aroused through stories, then teaching is carried out, and finally game interaction is used as outcome testing. In the knowledge introduction part, in addition to allowing users to actually understand the habitats of the three animals through the Taipei Municipal Zoo map, it also provides a more in-depth introduction through knowledge questions and answers and explanations.
