CROSSROAD

It wasn’t long ago when our paths first crossed. We were marching together in anticipation not really knowing what lies ahead. As the pressure build up, we found ourselves shucked in the middle of this crossroad faced with difficult task of choosing between the familiar and easy road over the unknown yet seemingly cold and desolate path.

But we choose to walk this rocky, path paving our way through all the hardships and repressed tears. Some perhaps regretting the choice but tuning back was quite too late. Others met an unfavorable fate and had to stop. But most of us, feigning strength from each other, walked on. Now the years have passed, as the burden became lighter, the bond we have established became stronger, shaping us to what we have become.

Up ahead we are again faced with another crossroad, the road that brought us together has come to an end. Together we have survived all the trials thrown upon us and we have somehow anticipated this separation, each to pursue our goals and dreams.

But amidst all that, the sweat, tears, and pain were but a distant memory. All that are vividly clear now are the faces of our brothers who shared the road with us and walked along our side through everything. And once in a while, as we are again faced with new trials, we remember them as we look back and swear to never forget.
