Meghadutam (The Cloud messenger) is a world famous kavya(poetry) of the great Indian poet of early centuries of AD, that is Kalidasa in the court of King Bhojaraja. While the kavya is known for its unequivocal descriptions of people and places its length is just 121 slokas(verses) of 4 lines each.
Sanskrit lovers and Sanskrit students of yester years were getting by heart all 121 slokas of Meghadutam and a greater number of slokas of Amarakosam.
The practice for young children to get the slokas by heart is elders recite the slokas word by word and the student repeats after the elder. If that is the way it is taught the young and little students cherish to pronounce even the very difficult words of Sanskrit following the teacher while otherwise they get scary of the difficulty.
In the busy schedules of the present day, parents don’t find time to sit with the children on this job. But many parents do like their children learn these.
This app comes with audio and two special modules ”Set order” and “By Heart” which are complementary to each other and together which can be called “Programmable tution”. The entire course of the verses of this Meghadutam are melodiously recited by Dr. Kalipatnapu Prasuna whose recitations are used for the “programmable tution”. Even for elders it is pleasant to listen to the slokas in the other modules.
The slokas are rendered in autoplay. You can start anywhere and go till the end of the sarga(part. There are two parts only).
