Database of 275 workshops involved in the light engineering industry in Kushtia. Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association Kushtia District Branch was established on 20/10/1991 with the unanimous consent of the owners for the purpose of various facilities. This association is centrally managed under the Ministry of Commerce. The main purpose of this association's activities is to assist the government in the development of the light engineering industry by providing various information and to stand by for the welfare, development and convenience of all the people associated with this industry. The office of Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association Kushtia District Branch is located at Dadapur Road, Mazampur Gate, Kushtia Stand.



In Kushtia, 200 companies involved in the light engineering industry are associated with the Kushtia District Branch of the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association. All these companies produce products worth several crores of taka every day. Which, after meeting the domestic demand of the country, are now being exported to neighboring countries as well.

Various organizations are manufacturing all these machines, machineries and parts in their own factories using cast iron and spring iron. There are some organizations which are buying machines and machinery from these big organizations and doing retail business.

Currently, there are about hundreds of small and big light engineering businesses in Kushtia. All these businesses are manufacturing various types of machinery, which has reduced our import dependency to a large extent. Only government sponsorship and our own will can take us further in this sector.
