About SDREA

Formed in 1942, the South Dakota Rural Electric Association, Inc, based in Pierre, S.D., is an association of 31 electric cooperatives in South Dakota. SDREA is devoted to unifying, promoting and protecting the interests of member electric cooperatives in South Dakota by providing leadership, training, communication, legislative representation and other member services.

The statewide association, SDREA, is similar to its member cooperatives in that it is nonprofit, member-owned and controlled by a board of directors elected by the members.
