The Cartuja Monastery traces its history to a time before the conquest, founded by order of Don Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, whose construction began in 1516. It is an example of Baroque architecture.

The courtyard of the monastery is accessed through a Plateresque style doorway formed by a semicircular arch, where there is a niche with an image of the Virgin. Next we find some stairs that lead to the door of the convent where we can access the different dependencies.

These dependencies are the church, the sacristy, the cloister, the chapter house, the Chapel of Profundis and the refectory.
