Audio Check-In lets anyone experience how voters could check in at the polls when the voter check-in station offers audio prompts and a touch screen for input. The ability to be treated identically at the polls is every voter’s right per the Help America Vote Act and Section 508.

Audio Check-In requires that Talkbackbe turned off through settings. Since Audio Check-In is used infrequently and by people who don’t use smart phones, an alternative interface style was chosen for its simplicity and consistency.

VOTEC Corporation is a 40-year provider of election technology. We want all voters to have equal access to the voting process. This includes voters with need for accessible interface options at the check-in station at the polls.

No one is subject to a different quality of service because of how well poll workers were trained or how tired a poll worker is or whether they have any bias that would affect some voters.
Accessible check-in is your right according to the Help America Vote Act as well as the ADA and Section 508. As usual, if you want the local and state election authorities to acquire accessible check-in you will have to make your voice heard. Else they may buy the cheapest or the lightest.
