IncluTech: Accessible and inclusive education for all

IncluTech is an innovative educational application designed to promote the inclusion of people who are visually impaired or deafblind in learning environments. Through technologies such as computer vision, artificial intelligence, haptic feedback and text to speech, IncluTech allows teachers and students to connect and share content in an accessible and effective way.

The app acts as a digital whiteboard that detects physical strokes made with a colored LED in front of the device's camera. These traces are digitized in real time and can be shared through Firebase with other users using a class code. Additionally, IncluTech offers alternative reading modes such as voice narration and vibration to represent Braille text.

Main features:

Digital whiteboard accessible with computer vision
Draw with a modified marker that integrates an LED in its tip. This accessory was specially designed to be 3D printed and adapted to the markers that teachers use in the classroom. The device's camera is placed in front of the physical board to capture the movements of the LED, which are converted into digital traces on the screen.

Online mode without LED
IncluTech also includes a section that allows you to draw directly on the digital whiteboard with your finger, without the need for the physical accessory or LED. This online mode is ideal for remote classes, demonstrations from home or contexts where there is no active camera or marker.

Content analysis with artificial intelligence (AI)
Once the whiteboard is generated or uploaded, IncluTech uses an artificial intelligence model to visually analyze the content of the whiteboard. This AI interprets what appears in the image (such as texts, drawings or formulas) and generates an accessible description that can be heard or felt.

Voice narration (Text to speech)
The descriptions generated by AI are reproduced using a configurable text-to-speech system, facilitating access to information for people with visual disabilities or reading difficulties.

Braille mode with vibration
The same descriptions can also be converted into vibration patterns that simulate Braille. The user can set pauses between points, letters and words to receive the information through tactile feedback, ideal for deafblind people.

Class code for synchronization
Teachers can generate class codes to share whiteboards in real time or access previously saved whiteboards. Students only need to enter the corresponding code to see the content shared by the teacher.

Cloud Sync with Firebase
Digital whiteboards automatically sync to the cloud through Firebase, allowing for a collaborative and efficient experience, optimizing data usage by updating content every few seconds.

Adaptable tools for everyone
IncluTech offers controls to customize reading speed, vibration times, stroke color, thickness, and more. Everything is designed to be functional and accessible in any educational context.
