The Association C.G.S. - Socio-cultural Cineclubs Youth was formed in 1967 by CNOS bodies (National Centre for Salesian Works) and CIOFS (Italian Centre for Salesian Feminine). And 'one of the nine associations currently recognized National Film Culture and financed by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities - General Direction for Cinema.
Founded with the aim of promoting and disseminating quality cinema, finalizing a continuous work of educational training through the means of social communication, the Association C.G.S. deals since its foundation and through the initiatives of Cineclubs affiliates, cure cycles of screenings, film forums, thematic reviews, retrospectives, book presentations, conferences and seminars, Theatrical, musical and multimedia: all activities aimed at a diverse audience but mainly composed of young people, which legitimizes also the events that for many years the CGS realize with schools of all levels.
The Association, which adheres to and cooperates with the AGIS also brings together several film and multimedia rooms, many of which implement a program during the entire calendar year. The Association C.G.S. It is structured on three areas of intervention; National level, composed of a Board of Directors which is responsible for planning associative policies, training events, the publishing initiatives, legislative adjustments and the overall platform of the programs; the Regional level, the coordination of the activities of individual Cineclubs present in the region and promotes every year training for young workers; and finally the Cineclubs Locals who perform with consistency of purpose but in full operational autonomy, their own cultural voluntary service in the territory.
The Cineclubs, adhering to the statutory content and the cultural and spiritual proposal that emphasize an integrated educational approach, they move in the direction of a network connection, in order to convey the best of national and local initiatives, increasing the potential of cultural diffusion and resonance of realized events.
