Amudhasurabhi, a flagship project of the ADTW department, Government of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to providing healthy, high-quality meals with balanced nutrition, taste, and hygiene through a centralised kitchen for students residing in Adi Dravidar welfare hostels. Currently, the Common Kitchen serves ADW urban hostels in Chennai, along with indigenous kitchens managed by hostel cooks, with plans to expand to three additional districts. This initiative will eventually scale to cover the entire state.

The mobile application developed under this project is designed to manage and monitor meal services in Adi Dravidar and Tribal hostels, enhancing coordination through real-time updates and feedback from kitchen in-charges, wardens, and students. The app aims to streamline management processes, ensure transparency, and increase the efficiency of meal services, thereby improving the welfare of hostel residents.

The application includes two main modules, one for Adi Dravidar school and college hostels with centralised kitchens to monitor the delivery and service of breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and another for tribal residential hostels, where school hostels have indigenous kitchens managed by cooks on campus. All activities are recorded in a database and displayed on a real-time dashboard. To ensure timely management from cooking to packaging, process times are entered into the app for monitoring. Additionally, GPS-enabled vehicle tracking is available on the dashboard for real-time delivery monitoring.
