Through this application, children will learn in a playful and fun way to recognize, pronounce, write and memorize the basic words and expressions of the Mazatec language, Huautla-Tenango variant.
The application has 13 beginner and intermediate level modules, designed especially for Mazatec girls and boys between 4 and 10 years old, but of great interest to any young person or adult. The app addresses the following areas of knowledge: fruits and vegetables, traditional food, human body, colors, numbers, furniture and dishes, animals of the mountain, owners of the mountain, toponymy of the Sierra Mazateca, narratives of creation, traditional music, conversations and poems. Additionally, the user can decide to test their memory with simple and fun guessing games.
All contents take as reference the culture and biocultural diversity of the Mazatec municipality of San José Tenango, Oaxaca.
