Simple and privacy minded. Set what you are doing and who can see it. Any time someone opens up the app they can see what there friends are doing and decide if they want to join. That's it. No "social media" no explicit awkward invites on FB, no having to text people, no feeling an obligation to respond. I just wrote this app for my friends because we needed it and I was stuck inside social distancing thinking back to life before quarantine. Probably only works in the US because I don't know how other phone numbers are formatted.
