This is the self-paced digital literacy boost training modules to enhance the educators’ professional knowledge and skills using videos, lesson plans with visualized illustrations and interactive games.
This training package is appropriate for formal and non-formal education programs. Modules provides the literacy boost teacher training progamme to equip the early grade educators in order to support for effective and interactive teaching.
It can especially provide the educators to teach the ethnic children who speak Myanmar as second language. This will be a stand-alone online course and participants will be able to follow the five modules sequentially, without the expectation of a tutor.
Literacy Boost introduced a range of practical instructional strategies to the early grade educators. After applying those strategies the educators will experience enormous positive impact in early grade students’ literacy skills.
There are five modules in this Literacy Boost training package. They are:
Module One: Literacy Acquisition and Development and Language
Module Two: Speaking and Listening,
Module Three: Reading and Writing: Foundations
Module Four: Reading and Writing: Fiction Texts
Module Five: Reading and Writing: Non-Fiction Text and Formative Assessment
The e-learning course will be based on the Literacy Boost Teacher Training Toolkit that composed with seven topics. The first topic that introduces the theory of literacy acquisition and development, stages of literacy development and model of skilled reading and writing while 32 literacy boost strategies are embedded under the middle 5 topics appropriately. The last topic mainly cover formative assessment with simple techniques and strategies. These topics and strategies are divided into the same five modules as given in the provided training modules. Each module will be mixed pre-test, lecturing sections and videos on teaching demonstration or classroom activities that is using the specific literacy boost strategies and assessment.
