The biography of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him, is Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib. He is the fifth imam of the Twelve Shiite sect and is nicknamed (Baqir al-Ulum), because of what he possesses of much knowledge, and he witnessed the Karbala incident when he was young.

And Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, is considered to be the founder of the Shiite scientific revolution, which moved and reached its greatest extent with his son, Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him.
The science carried several sections, including jurisprudence, monotheism, the Prophet’s Sunnah, ethics, the Qur’an, and many more.

He is considered one of the most important founders of religious education for Shiites, mostly in Iraq, Bahrain, Sharqiya and other Arab countries.
And as he is called by the title Al-Baqir for his cow, the sciences are cows (meaning he shows the sciences in appearance) as it was narrated on the authority of (the Messenger of God that he said: O Jabir, you will live until you reach a man from among my children whose name is my name.
