"Compose the words" is an interactive digital reading-writing experience inspired by the thought of Maria Montessori and designed specifically for 5 and 6 year old girls and boys.
The activity is not a game with prizes or points, but a real "job", at the end of which nothing is gained, except the possibility of being more competent (that is, knowing how to compose words independently). Instead of rewards, which do not support a sincere desire to learn, there is in fact self-correction, or the possibility of seeing the solution, but only if and when one wishes.
Don't worry, little girls and boys will appreciate this look!
After each interaction they will feel more experienced and this will reinforce their intrinsic motivation to continue with the exercise.
The captivating images, the possibility of infinitely repeating the construction of a word, that of jumping freely to the next word and the gradual automatic increase in difficulty, allow the tool to be used by a very varied audience. The proposal can in fact be used at home, in your free time, or at school, in the classroom, where the teacher can decide to offer it to your pupils as teaching material to get closer to reading and writing.
Furthermore, the controlled mediation of the device can be a great help for pupils with special educational needs.
Last note: the same application is also available free of charge for the Windows platform (ie for computers and most of the IWBs). If interested, send me an email.
Good work!
