The Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation, established by Shri N.Sugalchand Jain, has been conducting the Mahaveer Award for Essays for students of schools and colleges of Tamil Nadu since 2016. The aim is to acquaint the young people with the universal message of Peace & Harmonious co-existence preached by Bhagwan Mahaveer, the 24th Thirthankara, who lived 2600 years ago, and highlight the relevance of Bhagwan Mahaveer’s teachings in the contemporary world. The Essays are conducted in English and Tamil. The Essay competition is organized by the Principal of SJNS Jain Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai.
