The GCC Detector as an app for the detection of decking for the NOVO-TECH take-back system.

In addition to the high level of material health, the recyclability of products is an important criterion of the Cradle to Cradle philosophy we live by.

In order to facilitate the return of products made from our certified GCC wood-based material (German Compact Composite), we have developed this app for board recognition. By taking a photo of the cut surface of a decking board that is no longer required, it is automatically recognized whether it is a NOVO-TECH product. The images are analyzed on our server and the result will be emailed to you within a short time.

If the plank is positively identified, the material can be returned to our take-back system and can thus be used again as a raw material for a new generation of products. We cannot process boards that are not made from our GCC wood-based material and must be disposed of separately.

Please also note the instructions for an ideal exposure. The plank detection is still in the testing phase. Therefore, false-positive and false-negative results may occur even if used correctly. Please contact our support if the result does not seem correct to you.

The app needs access to the camera and the local app storage to record and save the images. For the upload you need an active internet connection via WLAN or mobile data. Please ask your provider whether and to what extent you will incur costs.
