The Ruhr Children's and Youth University is an extracurricular, purely privately financed and non-profit educational and research institution for children and young people aged four to 17.

The sponsor is the non-profit support association JUNI e.V.. This supports the Junior University Ruhr in all non-material and financial matters.

The practical and future-oriented courses and workshops at the Junior University Ruhr give children and young people space for their curiosity, joy of discovery and their thirst for research until they start working life.

Education vouchers from the education and participation package can also be used to pay the course fees.
