ColdPneu was developed for motorsports.
The app calculates the pressure for a cold tire based on the optimal warm tire pressure and the tire temperature expected in the race. Optional correction values allow you to adapt the calculation to your environmental conditions and experiences.
The following values are required to calculate the cold tire pressure:
- Air temperature in the cold tire (in °C or °F)
- Air temperature in the warm tire (in °C or °F)
- optimal tire pressure for racing (in bar, kPa or PSI)
The values are entered without any frustration using the rotary wheel without a keyboard. The temperature and pressure units can be changed in the app settings (°C, °F, bar, PSI, kPa).
ColdPneu offers the possibility to collect and comment on all values. Using the Save button at the bottom right will save all current data and settings along with the date and time. The newest entry is added to the top of the list, the older entries move down. This data can be accessed and edited using the edit button at the bottom left. Notes on e.g. route, boundary conditions, vehicle and tires can be added. The changes are saved automatically.
The basic calculation is based on the formula from the book

In practice, deviations can occur due to various influences. The app offers three options in the app settings to incorporate your own experiences with the existing wheel/tire combination into the calculation.
These optional correction options are:
- Correction of the race tire pressure (in bar, PSI or kPa)
- Correction of the race tire pressure (in % of the pressure difference)
- Correction of the race temperature (in °C or °F)
