The oldest buildings are almost 500 years old, the youngest date from the 20th century. In their interplay, they paint a very complex picture of the life of people in earlier times. They impart knowledge about building and living in earlier times, about the everyday life of wealthy farmers and craftsmen, but also of poorer sections of the population and of marginalized groups.

As different as people's living conditions were within a certain period of time, they also changed over the centuries. Changes to the partly very old buildings are impressive evidence of this.

All building ensembles are embedded in a wonderful landscape of fields, orchards and gardens.
