The company getAir has been dealing with indoor air quality and particulate matter for many years. With this app we want to show that the EU limit values ​​are much too high compared to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and therefore the citizens are exposed to a significant health risk.
At the beginning of 2019, the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry and the University Medical Center Mainz found out that health risks caused by pollutants in the air are significantly worse than previously thought. In Europe alone, nearly 800,000 people die prematurely each year as a result of air pollution. Accordingly, air contaminated with particulate matter in particular appears to have significantly more negative consequences than the scientists previously assumed.
