The Barthel index is used to assess the patient's everyday functions according to points. For each of the 10 everyday functions to be evaluated there are 2, 3 or 4 evaluation options and their respective number of points. The maximum possible score is 100 points.
The Barthel Index (BI), introduced in 1965 by physiotherapist Barthel and doctor Mahoney to assess the functional status of patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, has become the most widely used instrument for measuring everyday self-sufficiency in the world. V.a. This (apparently) simple and relatively quick survey as well as its direct clarity in the absence of specific test procedures have spurred this development. In the context of assessment settings, it has become the standard tool used by nurses. In the clinical field, geriatrics is the specialist discipline in which BI is used to a significant extent.
Hamburger Manual is integrated into the program so that the user can practically see how he should award the points.
