Walk in the footsteps of the famous fairy tale collectors and linguists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm: Our exhibition building, built in 2015, was voted one of the ten best new museums worldwide by the British newspaper »The Guardian«. And the fairytale architecture has already received numerous awards.
The exhibition uses the diversity of modern technology and stages the Grimm fairy tales in an exciting, vivid and interactive way: the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood in Grandmother's bed awaits your visit, and the witches' house from Hänsel and Gretel, which is overflowing by Zuckerwerk, captivates both young and old , Of course, these motifs are from Grimm's "Children's and House Fairy Tales": The original, personal copies of the Brothers Grimm with their handwritten notes have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005 and you can find them in our treasury.
In the exhibition area to the German dictionary, also called the "Grimm", you dive into dreamlike paper worlds of this monumental work. The swearword funnel beats for you one of many bridges from the Grimm time into today: For each called in force expression of our time you get back one of the Grimm time.
Afterwards, the Café-Restaurant Falada invites you to linger. From home-made pies to burgers with 100% North Hessian beef, everything hungry explorers need in their "hero's rest".
