Mobile robots are becoming increasingly popular. They require their creators to have extensive knowledge about mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science and computer graphics. Just to name a few. This makes it quite challenging to create them. But also quite a lot of fun! In this app we will take a tour into these interdisciplinary fields. The goal of this app is to explain and practice some of the key building blocks of mobile robotics. Due to the technical background of the author of this app we will mostly concentrate on image analysis tasks to derive spatial and semantic information from camera images. We will see how this information is being used to extract the camera motion to localize a robot. Additionally we will investigate methods for mapping the environment. In the field of robotics this is often referred to as SLAM - Simultaneous Localization And Mapping. Where possible we will try to discuss different sensors to a camera.
Please note that this app is constantly updated with new content. While there will not be a lot of content in the beginning the price will also be as low as possible. The more work I put in the development of the app, the higher I will need to set the price. Consequently, this means: The earlier you purchase the app, the cheaper it will be. I will use the revenue to finance the development of this app and incoorporate any helpful feedback you will send me (preferrably via e-mail). Thank you for using my app!
The following training units will be added eventually:
1.) Primer on Probability Theory
2.) Primer on Linear Estimation
3.) Primer on Non-Linear Estimation
4.) Kalman Filter
5.) Primer on Feature Detection
6.) Primer on Feature Matching
7.) Primer on Lie Group Theory
8.) Visual Odometry
9.) Visual SLAM
10.) ... and more topics
Kind regards,
