The VirtFiles application is intended to provide the option of creating and saving virtual, sortable file lists.

Most file managers use the name, timestamp or size as sorting criteria. However, this is not sufficient if you want to sort individual lists. An example of this is a list of PDF files containing the sheet music for a concert. The names of the sheet music do not necessarily reflect the order of the performance. There must be an individual sorting here.

VirtFiles can be used to create such sorted lists. From the normal Android file manager, the files are simply selected "pluszeichen" and thus transferred to the list to be created. The “Share” function from the various applications can also be used to add files to the list. By moving the individual files (swipe up/down), the files can be moved to a new position in the list. Swiping sideways deletes a file from the list.

The finished list can then be saved as a file in the working directory of the application "Download" nd read in again later with "Upload" .

The current list is deleted with "Delete".

The "Edit" can be used to switch the list to edit mode. The virtual file names can now be changed or added to. However, these names are only valid within the virtual file list. The names on the device memory are not changed by this editing.

A simple “click” on a line in the list opens the associated application. If the “App Chooser” selection box is selected, a selection of suitable applications is displayed, from which a suitable one can then be selected.
