Most users do not need this app. Their device's manufacturer does as Google recommends: a device should only be visible to other people's Bluetooth devices, as long as you are actively trying to connect to a new Bluetooth device.

Sadly, not all manufacturers comply with this.

Some devices (e.g. some Xiaomi MIUI models) are always visible to everyone, even when you are not trying to connect to your new headphones: at the bus station, in the train, in the mall. That way you are personally identifiable, your device is open to attacks and your battery drains faster.

Give it a try and search for new Bluetooth devices waiting at the train station.

You can test your device with this app. If it isn't discoverable by other devices while Bluetooth is activated, then you can safely uninstall the app - the manufacturer implemented Bluetooth correctly.

Even if your device is visible at the moment this can be correct - did you take a look at your Bluetooth-Settings just now? Please wait a few minutes. If your device's manufacturer did their homework, then your device should automatically become invisible again.
