CaptChores is currently a “mobile first” app for iOS and Android devices as well as a web application for the browser, but in any case it is beta software that is still very much in development and is far from finished.

From day 1 of the app's young life, in addition to software development, great importance was placed on ensuring that potential users also had a say in what was desirable, important and absolutely unimportant. The concept of the app is created parallel to the development of the software by “us” (i.e. all participants).

In order not to lose sight of your own goals and guidelines, there are a few basic principles that must always be observed and regularly evaluated:

At CaptChores, the absolute focus is on having fun with photography as a hobby. CaptChores is not a video chat, file sharing or audio/podcast client and is not intended to be one.
CaptChores must be and remain free and ad-free. There are no payment functions, in-app purchases or other monetization strategies. If the project does not support itself through voluntary contributions (whether free help with software development or coffee donations to finance the servers), one of the primary goals of this project has not been achieved and we recognize this as a legitimate result. There is nothing to shake. Point!
Data protection: Only the email address and the (freely selectable) name of the user account are used for all work with the data generated by us users. All data records created always refer to a “user ID” which references an account with these two mandatory details. We do not store any additional data as mandatory information - everything else that is created is just the technically necessary information that is essential to be able to implement the app's functionalities. The exact structure of the data structures can be viewed on this website and is therefore 100% transparent for all users.
CaptChores is made by and for amateur photographers who want to actively use an app to examine other people's works, share their own with the community and occasionally work on common topics (assignments) photographically. There is absolutely no motivation to grow beyond this basic target group.
