Enzycutter is an application that algorithmically simulates the cut site in a Fasta DNA sequence with Restriction Enzymes and demonstrates the hypothetical separation with electrophoresis based only on the size of the parts after cutting.

Restriction enzymes are DNA-cutting enzymes found in bacteria. Are routinely used for DNA modification in laboratories, they are a vital tool in molecular cloning and commonly used in recombinant DNA work. In order to be able to sequence DNA, it is first necessary to cut it into smaller fragments that can be separated by gel electrophoresis.

The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). And these enzymes cut the DNA sequence at specific locations.

Electrophoresis is a general term that describes the migration and separation of charged particles (ions) under the influence of an electric field. An electrophoretic system consists of two electrodes of opposite charge (anode, cathode), connected by a conducting medium called an electrolyte. The separation effect on the ionic particles results from differences in their velocity, which is the product of the particle's mobility and the field strength.
