The Pulianas Tourist Guide app is a free tool part of the Unified Digital Street Map of Andalusia (CDAU) project and developed by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA). This app offers detailed information about Pulianas, a charming village located in the Vega de Granada, just 5 km from the capital of Granada. Its highlights include:

History and Heritage: Its origins date back to Roman times, when it was an agricultural village, with possible influences in its name, both Arabic (Bulyāna according to Ibn al-Jatib) and Roman (a "villa Pauliana" derived from Paulus). The modern municipality emerged from the merger of Pulianas and Pulianillas in 1945. Notable heritage sites include the Parish Church of San José (17th century), the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, and the Church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (in Pulianillas), with a historic Stations of the Cross with crosses attached to the facades.

Activities: Pulianas offers a vibrant annual cultural program, with up to 30 activities during the summer—concerts, open-air cinema, theater, and street parties—along with events such as Book Week and competitions like the Cruces de Mayo (May Crosses). It's also ideal for walks through the Vega, hiking, or cycling through its natural surroundings.

Local Gastronomy: Pulianas' culinary tradition combines authentic rural dishes such as corn crumbs, porridge, chickpea stew, and tortillas made with coltillos, broad beans, or spinach, as well as kid in garlic and poor man's potatoes. Other highlights include ratatouille, gazpacho, Segureño lamb, and local wines, as well as traditional desserts such as pestiños, alfajores, oil cakes, and homemade flan.

Festivals and Traditions: Celebrations include:

Candlemas (February 2), with community bonfires and socializing.

Holy Week, with highly devotional processions.

Day of the Cross (May 3), with floral decorations on streets and balconies.

Pulianas Fair in August, with music, dance, and a festive atmosphere.

San Sebastián Festival in January and, although less common, Fat Thursday, with outings in the countryside and gatherings outdoors.

The app also includes an interactive street map to locate points of interest, bars, and restaurants, making it easier to plan your visit. Immerse yourself in the authenticity of Pulianas and enjoy an experience rich in tradition, culture, and nature with this comprehensive tourist guide.
