The purpose of this application is to familiarize users with the effects of ionizing radiation used in medical imaging because the number of radiological examinations performed has increased steadily over recent years.

Although the dose reference levels (DRLs, acronym for dose reference levels) are found in national and international official documents, patients are unaware of their existence or know how to access them. With this application are summarized the most relevant and timely information for adults, children and pregnant women, including the ability to register on the device scans personal history.

It has included an explanation of the magnitudes used in Radiological Protection, together with the effective dose limits for exposed workers and the general public, attaching the reason why patients there are no such limits. The application contains other relevant information and a map of monthly natural radiation in Spain.
