Couto Pharmacy was born in 1918 in Porto under the name of Higiene Pharmacy. In 1931 it started to have the current name given by its founder, Mr. Alberto Couto, who in the same year launched the Pasta Medicinal Couto.

The property is still maintained today in the family in the person of Drª Maria Branca Gomes da Silva in partnership with the Technical Director Drº António Alberto Prata.

Currently Couto Pharmacy has a technical team composed of seven pharmacists committed to providing its users with a service of high technical and scientific competence.
