The mobile application makes it easier to respond to the survey by capturing photographs of receipts. The study of expenses constitutes the traditional and central objective of the survey: all household expenses are recorded, their amount and their nature, broken down into a nomenclature of approximately 900 budget items (modeled in part on the COICOP - HBS Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose - Household Budget Survey) compatible with the nomenclature of national accounts.

All expenses are covered, including those which do not relate to the consumption of goods and services (in the sense of the national accounts): taxes, insurance premiums, major work on housing, loan repayments.
