Yakazu and sudoku are similar: they are both number games. But yakazu is different from its Japanese cousin because it uses... a crossword grid! This original game was created by the ingenious Frenchman Patrick Tirone, originally from the South of France.

The rule is as simple as sudoku. Your mission is to find a place for each number between 1 and the number of squares in the row or column to which they belong. Is a line 5 squares long? You must place all the numbers from 1 to 5 inside. Is a column 7 boxes long? You'll have to rack your brains to place the numbers from 1 to 7. Of course, everything mixes and intertwines and that's what makes the beauty of yakazu!
