Chichen Itza is a Maya city of Itza, founded in the pre-Christian era, located between Valladolid and Mérida in Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. Chichen Itza was probably once considered the religious center of Yucatan. Today it is Mexico's second most visited archaeological site. The height of the Kukulkan pyramid, known as El Castillo in Chichen-Itza, is 24 m compared to the upper platform. (It is lower than the pyramid at Uxmal, which was 40 m high at the end of the 10th century.) Chichen Itza was recognized as one of the new seven wonders of the world, selected on 7 July 2007. Legend has it that Chichen Itza was taken in the 10th century by the Toltecs led by Quetzalcoatl.

Kukulkan Temple or Kukulkan Pyramid, known as Chichen Itza: The Mayans built this pyramid with a particular system as if they wanted to reveal their knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. For example, there are 91 steps on each of the four facades of Chichen Itza, so when we add the top plain (1) to the number of 364 we found with 4x91, we get 365, which is the number of days in the year. They also orientated the pyramid in such a way that at the time of the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sunlight coming into the pyramid casts a shadow, thanks to the protrusions of the pyramid, in such a way that the two snakehead sculptures at the bottom of the stair steps form a body extension that draws S's. (The two-headed serpent.) This serpent is the divine feathered serpent known as Kukulkan. (A feature of the snake is that its body can take the shape of the orbits of celestial bodies and draw S's.) Also, they have arranged the Chichen Itza pyramid into nine different levels, such as the number of underground realm floors they believe. When viewed from the top of the pyramid, it has a 300-hectare field of view, that is, all the buildings in the city can be seen.
