As part of the comprehensive program of the Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét since 2009, the baroque archbishopric center of Kalocsa, the Cathedral of Our Blessed Lady, the Archbishop's Castle, the former Canon House opposite the Cathedral, which was remodeled and expanded to become the ASTRICEUM Archbishop's Museum, were renovated. The Archbishop's Museum, Archbishop's Library, Archbishop's Archives, i.e. the 'Archbishop Collections', are in a worthy environment.
The exhibitions that can be visited in the ASTRICEUM Archdiocese Museum describe the Archdiocese's past, its cultural built values and material memories:
Following Archbishop ASZTRIK
Memories of the historical past of the Archdiocese of Kalocsa, its built heritage from the Árpád era to the present day, following the renovation and archaeological excavation of the Cathedral of Our Lady.
The finds and stone fragments found during our work, as well as contemporary church walls, prove the high cultural value of the construction and style of our early cathedrals, also proving that in Hungary, including Kalocsán, already in the XI-XIII. century, our churches were built in the same style as Western architectural values.
Our presentation and exhibition span more than a thousand years in space and time.
