The Education Book Application of Hindu Religion and Characteristics for Class IX at Junior High School (Revised edition) was written in the spirit of activity-based learning. The learning is divided into several religious activities that students must do in an effort to understand their religious knowledge and actualize it in real actions and daily attitudes, both in the form of ritual and social activities.
The religious knowledge that students learn becomes a source of value and a driver of their behavior. Just for example, among the values of character in Hinduism known as Tri Marga (devotion to God, parents, and teachers; karma, working as well as possible to be presented to others and God; Jnana, seeking as much knowledge as a provision for life and life guide), and Tri Warga (dharma, acting based on truth; artha, fulfilling the necessities of life based on truth, and kama, fulfilling desires in accordance with applicable norms). In the formation of character, the learning process must take them from knowledge of goodness, then create a commitment to goodness, and finally actually do good.
