"Until we are one" is our motto. The "Unity of the Church of Christ" is a fundamental concept in Christianity that refers to the idea that all believers in Jesus Christ must be united as a single body, regardless of differences; The challenge of Christianity is unity in diversity. This principle is based on the words of Jesus recorded in the Bible, in which He prayed that His followers would be one, just as He and the Father are one. The pursuit of Church unity is not only an important aspiration but also an ongoing challenge.

Church of Christ in Brazil was organized on December 13, 1932, in the city of Mossoró-RN. It emerged at an auspicious moment in the history of the Brazilian evangelical church. In an arduous time with few resources for evangelization, this country church expands, fascinatingly, from sweat to sweat, from heat to heat; in the sacrifice of its pioneers, who in the full flow of the Spirit of God preached the good news of the Kingdom in the arid land and rocks, under the scorching sun in the heart of the Brazilian Northeast. As of 2019, an alliance began with the then Evangelical Church of Christ, which has been operating in the South of Brazil since August 1932. Consolidating the union with the Church of Christ in the Northeast, making the two churches one just people.

The ICB is the first evangelical church of genuinely Brazilian origin, distinguished by a rare historical beauty; It was not born motivated by a power struggle, as is more common in dissent, but from a sincere and impetuous feeling of defense of the Christian faith and the apostolic doctrine of eternal and exclusive salvation by grace.

Therefore, in 1932, the Holy Spirit breathed into the south and northeast of Brazil, giving birth to two churches with striking characteristics of their regions. In 2019, the two churches joined together in a spiritual movement, making an alliance for eternity, being one people.
