About MGCGV
Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is India’s first rural university, founded in 1991 by Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh with support from the Madhya Pradesh government. It was established to empower rural communities through education, innovation, and sustainable development. Recognized as a UGC Category-I University and accredited with an “A++” Grade by NAAC, MGCGV offers a vibrant academic environment steeped in its founding vision of Gramodaya (village uplift) and Gandhian principles. Over three decades, MGCGV has remained true to its mission of rural transformation through education and research.
