This app provides an interface to the Acronym Server operated by Silmaril Consultants (http://acronyms.silmaril.ie) and enables to query the server to retrieve the definitions.

This program is used as a programming exercise to illustrate several important programming concepts on the Android platform. The source code is released under the Apache 2.0 license and is available on GitHub (https://github.com/TonyGuyot/acronym-finder-app).

Parental advisory from the Silmaril web site:
"This database contains a small number of obscenities, vulgarities, swear words, and nicknames for portions of the human anatomy. These are integral to valid entries, just as they would be in a dictionary. If you do not wish your child to be exposed to these, please block this page from them."
