The reciter Sheikh Noreen Muhammad Siddiq (1982 - 2020) is a Sudanese Quran reader.
Noreen began memorizing the Qur'an at the hands of the sheikhs of the Katateeb in the Bara region of North Kordofan state, in the mid-nineties.
He was famous among other Sudanese readers for reciting the Holy Qur’an with multiple narrations.
🔹 He was famous for reciting the Noble Qur’an in a humbled voice, which attracted thousands of Muhajideen in the month of Ramadan, and he became the imam of the most famous mosques in the capital, Khartoum.
🔹 The recitation of Noreen resonates in public transportation vehicles, private cars, the Holy Qur’an radio, and in markets and shops in Sudan and abroad.
🔹 On behalf of Sudan, he participated in several international competitions, most notably Malaysia and Dubai, where he won its third global award in the Holy Quran during a competition with 83 countries.
🔹 May God have mercy on him died on Friday, November 6, 2020, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Awwal 20, 1442 AH, following a traffic accident 18 km from Omdurman, with three sheikhs who were with him on their return from Wadi Halfa in the northern state, they are: Ali Yaqoub and Abdullah Awad Al-Karim, and Muhannad Al-Kinani.
