The fashion industry is the second most polluting in the world due to fast fashion, a model developed in the last twenty years, followed by the big brands that produce clothes without respecting the regulations on the environment and with workers in conditions of semi slavery. The fast fashion brands bring out new collections every week, with passing fashions and low quality fabrics, to encourage the quick consumption of their clothes.
In this sector the decision-making power is totally in the hands of the consumers and an incisive change can be implemented on the environment and on the conditions of the workers without having to wait for the politicians to vote new laws or the companies take different market directions.
Weco was created precisely to give the consumer a tool, which helps him buy clothes from sustainable brands in the choice of fabrics, production methods and workers' conditions.
Inside the app through a search by name of the brand or by type of article of clothing with advanced filters (for example women, T-shirts) are the eco-sustainable fashion brands with information on materials, the environmental impact, worker conditions and information transparency.
All the brands present can be found online in Italy, on the page of each brand there are links to social networks and to the e-shop.
In the future, the fast fashion brands will be added to the sustainable brands present on the application.
