Nutmeg cultivation climate and soil
Nutmeg is a tropical crop and thrives in humid climates and rainfall of 2500 to 4000 mm. It is also grown in areas with an average rainfall of 1500 to 3000 mm. Very cold means 10 sec. Or under it as well as overheating i.e. 40C. Temperatures higher than do not humanize this crop. It is grown at an altitude of 750 m above sea level.
Nutmeg can be grown in a variety of but well-drained soils such as sandy loam, silty sandy loam, vermiculite. Poyatya and mulch peat lands are more humane. This plant is also considered as an intercrop as it needs shade. Coconut - In a betel nut garden, the tree gets much needed shade and protection from the westerly winds.
Pre-cultivation
If coconut is planted at a distance of 7.5 × 7.5 m, before the monsoon, in the middle of each coconut and in the betel nut orchard, on four betel nut trees, 90 cm in length, width and depth, fill 50 kg of manure / compost in each pit.
