“Komonjo Camera” provided by Toppan is an app that deciphers ancient documents using AI.
You can easily decipher written materials by taking pictures of them with your smartphone.
Recommended for those who want to learn Kuzushiji or those who want to get an overview of the ancient documents they have.
It is possible to partially decode, edit decoded characters, and output the decoding results, so it can be used for professional and advanced usage situations.
*AI decoding function has a limit on the number of times it can be used per day.

■Development history
TOPPAN Co., Ltd. has been engaged in research and development of Kuzushiji OCR technology since 2015, and provides "Fuminoha®", a service for deciphering ancient documents and utilizing Kuzushiji materials.
This app was developed for individual users as part of the "Fuminoha®" service.

■Features of this app
・Photography function
- You can use your smartphone's camera function to take a picture of the material you want to decipher and easily import it into the app.
- You can also import and use captured images saved on your device.
・Image editing function
- Images taken under various conditions can be processed to decipher them with high precision.
- Cropping, angle correction, keystone correction, black and white inversion, noise removal
・Full auto mode
- AI automatically deciphers all characters in the image.
- Two types of AI can be selected according to the text in the document, allowing for highly accurate decoding.
・Range specification mode
- Specify and decipher a range of characters, words, or lines.
- If there are multiple candidates in the decoding results, they will be displayed in order of confidence.
・Decoding result editing function
- It is possible to modify the characters and character frames for the data after decoding.
・Decoding result output function
- You can save the decoding results as images or text.
・SNS sharing function
-You can share the decoding results by posting them on SNS from the app.

■Notes
- Decoding accuracy may decrease depending on the photographing conditions of the document (brightness of the room, shadows, light reflection, tilt, etc.) and condition of the document (yellowing, moth-eaten, faded or dirty text, size of image data, etc.) You must to do something before you go on.
- There is a limit to the number of times the decryption function can be used per day. (The number of available uses will be restored at 0:00 every day)
