Nefrodiet is a tool to help kidney patients eat better. It is aimed at patients on ACKD (pre-dialysis), hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. It has been carried out by the Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo Renal Foundation based on a program designed and donated by Fernando Martínez Casado, a kidney patient.

It has the scientific endorsement of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (SEN) and the Spanish Society of Nephrology Nursing (SEDEN). The data collected in it is prepared by Daniel Escobar Sáez, Pablo Estebala Alández, Nina Padrón Esaa, Victoria Meléndez Lancáster, Olivia Robles Serrano, Cecilia Ibáñez Varela and Eva Gil Sánchez based on verified sources (*) and supervised by Dr. Guillermina Barril (Nephrologist) and by Ángel Nogueira and María Delgado Gª de Polavieja (Nutritionists).

The application is in the process of being continuously updated and reviewed by Nutrition professionals, and every year some improvement in its functionality and content is included. The changes made are implemented each year by Ángel Virseda Arribas (Cristaliza Servicios). Since its launch in 2016, Nefrodiet has been chosen every year among the 5 best health Apps in Spain by isyscore, a scale drawn up by the iSYS Foundation to evaluate applications and which takes into account, among other criteria, popular interest, trust and usability.
